    hi guys and ladies having bad luck

    hello every one.the last few days i have been reserching ho to do a converstion on my passat and have found nothing and no one wants to help so im thinking selling my passat and buy a audi a4.

    i have heard of converstions on the four cyclinders and not much on the v6 .any i would like to share some thoughts what i should i do.cheers

    Conversion to what?

    i would like to convert it to a manual and use the auto as a paper wight.

    General consensus is the few thousand it would cost to change over to a similar age/condition manual car is CHEAPER and less likely to cause mechanical issues down the track.

    I.e. trade in or sell your car and get a manual one.

    You only ever do serious things like that if you really, really LOVE getting your hands dirty, spending HEAPS of time and ca$h, and it's more about the process than the end result. Engine and tranny swaps are rarely simple, problem free and straight forward.

    Always simpler to buy the end result if that's what it's all about. Unless you can't buy it of course!

    I looked into it many years ago for a Celica. Too many potential issues and parts in addition to the gearbox. If it were just the box and the stick, it would be easy.

    thanks guys.yeah true be cheaper to get anothe passat but it be a tdi model.im a machnic by trade but i dont know much about vw vechicals.my tcm got fried when the water reached it and spat the dummy.is there any model of passat that a tcm will work for my model

    Sell it and buy a manual.
    You'll save money, rather then having to spend it as well as time.
    It's rarely worth doing unless you really just want to learn how to.
