Ok, Thanks for everyone's help. The outcome is as follows.

I called Volkswagen and gave them the rundown and they basically told me it is for the dealer to sort out but let them know if I hit an absolute brick wall and they will "see what they can do".

I email replied the dealer and called there bluff, and said along the lines of "please look into this further...at the time i wasn't given much time to think...it was more a pressure buy then anything else...who would i need to speak to?...blah blah..

They forwarded it on to the aftercare consultant (lady I talked to at the showroom) and she gave her spiel about "it being too late as the contract has already been allocated"..

Well i didn't let up and about 6 emails later the X-pack has now been removed from the purchase at no additional cost. As a bonus the relationship didn't break down at all. So fairly happy about the outcome!

    Cheers.

I always hate being pressured by those ladies.

But i know many have fallen for the so called protection pack blah blah...

The key is know what u want and be firm.
