Old Microprose games on Windows Vista...

    Hey guys

I was wondering if any of you more computer savy people can help me out there. I have got it into my head to try and revisit my childhood and download a couple of old Microprose games such as F-117A Nighthawk and F-15 Stike Eagle III.

I am running Windows Vista on my laptop (I don't get into the whole Windows Vista vs Windows 7 argument...), and for some reason, after unzipping the files, the Start Up or Set Up exe files won't run. I have consulted a couple of sites in hope of rectifying the problem, and have done a couple of things that they suggest, but I am still having no joy...

Is there anyone out there who has got any of these older games running??

I'm no IT expert but you could try right-clicking the .exe files and under the "Compatibility" tab, check the option for "Run this program in compatibility mode" and select Windows 98 or whatever operating system was around during that time. This is going off the Windows 7 that I'm running but Vista shouldn't be that different?

Just gave that a try... Unfortunately, there is no such option.

If it's a DOS game then your best bet is to use the DOS-Box emulator:
