    Good Website To Buy Cameras?

    Hi,

I wasn't sure where to put this so hope here is OK. I'm looking to but a Canon DSLR camera (hopefully a bundle deal) and a GoPro HD camera too, but I want to buy them online as the prices I'm seeing in local shops are crazy. So does anyone know of good reputable online electrical stores where I could buy these? I'm pretty new to this stuff down here

    Thanks
    Walt

I bought an HTC One X phone, it arrived from Hong Kong THE DAY AFTER I ordered it.
I was so impressed I bought a Sony SLT and lens a week later. Very helpful online staff and great prices.
They don't have the best prices on memory cards, get them from memorycity.com.au.

Cheers guys, I was looking at DWI last night alright, will check out the others. Has anyone bought direct import stuff from JB HiFis website? Some good deals there but I'm a bit dubious about not getting a manufacturers warranty and just a JB HiFi one...

we've previously bought some dslrs and lenses from D-D Photographics, with pick-up available in north sydney if you're near there.

    Good luck with your search!

Thanks again guys, I've just ordered an EOS 600D, camera bag and SD card from DDP above as they seemed to have pretty good prices. Hopefully it arrives safe so I can start playing with it!

Just a heads-up; bear in mind Canon Australia won't honour the Canon International warranty any more; nor the Canon warranties of any other (overseas) Canon distributors. This includes Canon USA (which is a change from their previous policy on L lenses).

I get quite a bit of my kit from digidirect.com.au - they are a Canon Australia reseller and their prices tend to be at the pointy end for locally-distributed stuff.

DDP (Discount Digital Photographics) is the cheapest place in Sydney for DSLR gear.

However if you want accessories I suggest you look elsewhere to get cheaper. I recently bought about $480 of stuff from B&H in New York. They have a very good reputation and some of the stuff I bought there was literally half the price of what even DDP is, the only down side is the shipping cost. It takes about a week to your door but it will cost you about $40, so it may only be worth ordering from them if you buy a few items like I did.

Bubu, is this the place you mean? B&H Photo Video Digital Cameras, Photography, Camcorders

Would there be any taxes to pay here on bits ordered from an American site?
