Not looking for an argument as I know from experience Transporter has a habit of Barring people who disagree.
But from my experience some dealers offering free servicing are genuine.
If its a new car and the new car department are paying internal rates for the service department to carry out the scheduled service you should have nothing to worry about.

    MX5 -v- Veloster -v- GTI -v- FT86

Comparisons between the FT86/BRZ, MX5 and hot hatches were always going to be inevitable:

    Toyota 86 v Veloster Turbo v Mazda MX-5 v Golf GTI | carsguide.com.au

Carsguide.com verdict pretty much hits the nail on the head.

    GTI ... 8/10.
    FT86 ... 9/10.

    Cheers.

Gee, I didn't think about that! You may be right there and that the free servicing may actually work after all. Just disregard my post there then.

I probably just had a senior moment and for a second I forgot that the world is full of honest people.

It's not really that obtuse. In a review of 'sporty' cars, with two sports cars, it's kind of obvious the newest, cheapest, more practical and better drivers car would come out on top.

Trouble is, that review actually doesn't rate the 86 as the best "drivers car"

The review is absolute rubbish. Read it.
