Ford Focus RS confirmed for Australia $59,000

For now, though, Australian hot hatch fans can at last get their hands on one of Ford of Europe's most exciting models - and with only 315 examples to be made available, its 'future legend' status is all but assured."

Awesome car, it'll certainly sell well here with the reputation it's got. Saw one in London earlier this year, they look very aggressive in person.

Resale. Chassis. They're first two off the top of my head.

I would imagine FWD gives it a bit more, er, character than AWD though.

That 5-cylinder engine is beaut, so it's good to see that we're finally getting it in its full glory in Australia. From what I hear this is its dying gasp - it's being killed off by EU emissions regulations because it's just a bit too thirsty. At this price I suspect it's going to be bought by people who already own a Focus XR5 and can't get enough of them, because $60k seems a bit overpriced for anyone else. As I understand it, the Focus RS doesn't cost much more than a Golf GTI in the UK.
