Not which which is the best forum for this but since this covers all models, I thought I would post it up here.

My Golf is coming out of warranty soon and I decided to keep it for a few more years so I wanted some more warranty.
I should have bought it years ago before VW had all the issues as premiums have risen a lot since then. (stupid me)
I did the ring around and was shocked to see the VW product was anywhere from $2500-$3000. (was $1600 from memory)
The RRP for the golf genuine warranty is $3,920 for 2 years, but most places discount 25%+. If you settle for 25% you are a sucker as you will easily save $500 more just shopping around.
Most dealers I rang won't even tell you about the Alliance Assured product unless you ask.
Not sure if they were supposed to send me these brochures, but one dealer happily emailed them through with the Policy documents for me to compare.

Here is a link to all the documents so you have a better idea of what you are purchasing and also when you get a price you can check exactly what they are quoting on. I found a lot of the dealers either didn't know what they were quoting on or most probably there is more margin in the VW product for them.

Hopefully this gives you some ideas of what they are working off and a starting point to know what they are quoting you on.
