    dsg on my golf r

Hi i have a question is it normal on a golf r for the dsg to change longer than normal. I had a gti my13 and that dsg was great. This one seems different. I have to push the peddal down further in the r than the gti.

    Fair enough.

The gearbox in the R is identical to what was in your GTI so it should behave in much the same way. Just be mindful that the R is heavier, has AWD and an engine/turbo combination that develops power higher in the rev range than a GTI. These factors may cause the R to feel a bit different to the GTI.

Also the R has a bigger turbo then the GTI, which inevitably means more lag, not much but its noticeable if you are used to the smaller K03 turbo fitted in a GTI. The power delivery of the R is not as peaky early on in the rev range, so it may be the lag of the turbo which is contributing to the feeling of having to apply more accelerator to shift up.
