    Customer service at Hornsby VW

Went to Hornsby VW a few times, unbelievable service.

Waited 10 mins for a sales person, he turned up and said' will have to deliver a car now, be back in 30 mins.' Not happy.

Went in for a GTI test drive another time with my wife, sales person said ' No GTI is available', not to mention there were more than 3 GTI demo there, and I test driven one of them a week ago, just want my wife to sit in for another test. Again not happy.

Few days later, we rang and book for a test drive, this time we get to test drive the car, but this sales person was really pushy, his face turn unhappy when we need to go without putting down deposit. Not happy at all.

Over all bad experiences with this dealer, no problem with all the dealers I have being to in the past (Alto Skoda, Lexus Chatswood, VW chatswood classic, Hornsby Honda, all decent of not good), just this VW hornsby

Really got me thinking, if they can offer abit more customer service, they will sell alot more cars.

This is the same case with my Dad, few years ago now he got rid of the company car and wanted something bit better so he went to VW around my area (not going to mention who) and went to have a look at the MK5 R32 (gives some perspective). Dad basically said he wanted it as soon as he saw it and went into to buy one then and there. They had one available which was a silver 2DR Manual, 4 door as preferable but my dad was willing to pay the deposit that day.

Had a look at it, talked to the very unethusiastic salesman trying to draw some info from him as to pricing, etc and he was so disinterested we were amazed. My dad said so is this one for sale (silver 2dr) and he said Nope, Sorry. Continuing to say basically its the only one they have and they need it for showroom and they are rare at that time, etc etc.

My dad was preparred to pay full RRP for the car, on that day, but he didn't even offer an alternative vehicle to be transferred but only said I will call you if anything comes up...later that day my dad bought a 130i with M pack, GPS, Sensors, etc.

We had the similar experience years back, when my dad about to buy a new car we were looking around the Hornsby area, we went to VW for a look around, try to get some info and a test drive. ( we didn't know much about VW cars back then). but we didn't even get to try anything before dad gone mad about the wait, and we ended up buying a Civic sport(honda dealer next door LOL).

I also went to this dealer when buying the current car...

Turned up with wife and kids and pram to show her the "last minute" alternate to the six litre Redline SSV Sportswagon I was going to get.

I found a real attitude issue in there... I have written it up in some other post, but of the handfull of sydney dealers I went to, the dealers that consider themselves "premium" or specialist "VW" have a real 'tood... dealers that share the lot sorrounded by holdens and mitsubishis seemed to suffer less from this affliction...

Maybe the guy had had a bad day, who knows... and I know I had forgotten to shave, but we spilled out of of a three year old 55 grand SUV and the rest of the family had cute turned up to 11....

Only good thing about that visit was the wife sat it in the car and she wanted the Passat over the SSV with some conviction... I think she thought she was trying to convince me to mellow and buy luxury over speed... a couple of months after we got the car she was caught in at the lights (around the corner) in the left lane... so she firewalled the pedal and accidently shot out of a cannon.

"You never told me at that Hornsby place this car was that fast"

Aaaand that is about it for fond memories out of that place...

    Having a Gap Year!!!!
    what next?... what next?
