Custom metal fabrication in SE Melb

    Hey guys,

Just wondering whether anyone knows of a place in SE Melb that does small custom metal fabrication? I need some 3 mm thick aluminum sheet cut to size but it's only small (about 200 mm x 200 mm).

I've emailed about six places and only heard back from two who both won't do it.

By the way - does anyone think a panel shop would do this type of thing?

    Luke

This is place is just behind the dyno shop I use, they seem pretty versatile.

otherwise for a small fab job Brown Davis could probably assist.

There's also an aluminium place opened not long ago opposite Bayswater Bunnings next to Subway. Their signage says they do small jobs too.
    Can't recall the name sorry.

Cheers Peter. It sucks working normal business hours because it's hard to go out and get quotes on these sorts of things.

Out of about 10+ places I emailed three got back to me - one could laser cut it if I supplied a CAD file - $120+GST. In the end I found a place in Williamstown (nearly an hour away from me) who is cutting it for about $30 without drilling the holes.

FYI Preeny should be able to do this sort of thing including the holes for a good price. Unfortunately I'd just paid the other mob otherwise I would've gotten it done by Preeny.
