    Climate change and the cars

Not just IMO, if we were really serious about the climate change, we would be reducing consumption of the life stock loooong time ago.

Interesting read, and agree but I do love a good piece of steak!

Another point mentioned in the article is deforestation, however the effects of this on climate change are not really covered. This is a much more serious problem and one that is probably now irreversible!

I agree Miro - there's more to climate change than mechanical monsters.

If we were really serious we'd:

Stop the use of bunker oil & make the ocean going fleet clean up their act with cleaner power plants.

    Stop tourism based aircraft flights.

Limit the sheep / cattle / chicken population

    Reduce deforestation.

That would reduce protein intake to a point where human physical and mental development is severely hampered. Bad idea.

There are plenty of ways to maintain (more than) sufficient dietary intake including protein without needing the current beef/lamb/pork/chicken farming practices that we currently have. You'll note I used the term "limit" not "ban".

Even taking a more community based approach to farming & food distribution rather than the cyurrent hub & spoke approach would be beneficial.

The beef consumption was not a problem in the seventies with population of around 2 billion.
