i just throw in a old towel and a pair of nitrile gloves ( heavy duty surgical gloves - ) - when i did changed it no mess even the hands were clean. i would agree that my wife can call assist or if i'm on the same side of town .. roadside hubby..me.
Geez its not a hard thing to do, as for being dangerous or too heavy, Ive seen my 50kg girlfriend carry more than 20kg worth of shoes and clothes etc after a day out shopping with the girls and let me tell you she didnt have any trouble handling those bags![]()
IMO its 1 of the most basic parts of car ownership, its not hard to carry a pair of gloves or a rag or 2 in the boot, some of the more industrious among us might even carry a little water as well which could be used to wash your hands... Personaly I couldnt be arsed waiting an hour for someone to do a job that would take no more than 10 minutes.... Im sure theres always an exception to the rule but wearing a suit surely isnt one of them...lol...

This is the funniest thread ever.
I have NRMA and all of that stuff on all of my cars. Have called them once, but then had to call them back to tell them not to come cos i managed to get my car going in the 1hour it was going to take them to get to me.
I guess some ppl arent into changing tyres and doing the dirty stuff thats involved with cars. This is prob why they have a new car with roadside assist.
Personally i wouldnt call someone to change a car tyre.
I was with my mates comming back from the summernats one year we changed some broken valve springs on the side of the road.
Some ppl are into doing things themselves, some arent (or they are old, weak etc).

Yeah, you are are are allowed to so long as it safe to do so, and you don't impede the flow of traffic. This is why most highways have the breakdown lane in which to do things as chang a tyre or have someone else do it for you.
By the way, I want to know how someone was able to start a thread in my name when I wasn't the one who started it.![]()

dont drive a car then if you cant service it?
dont mod a car if you cant do it your self?
dont get warrenty if you can afford to fix it?
if you think thats right then you should follow the above too! lol not everyones superman dude! not even my 80 year old grandad that calls me to change a tyre on his car.
on topic: i cant change a tyre with out calling somone to bring me my jack from home.
Its to low to fit any car jack under lol![]()

A mod can split a thread that is going off topic into two threads one for each topic. The new thread will then appear to be started by whoevers post is at the top in, in this case you. Just for info, hope that clarifies the matter.

Wow.. What a discussion. One of the first things i learned was how to change a tyre.. Well before getting my L's.
If i was in a business suit i would STILL change the tyre. Calling roadside assist is utterly ridiculous unless you have a physical health problem that you could aggravate by doing so.
"What happened to you? How'd you get so dirty?" "Yeah got a flat.. Bit of a pain but i changed it. Took me 15 mins but far better than waiting for roadside assist.."
If you need to know how to change a tyre, then why not know how to service your car? That's ridiculous! Knowing how to change a tyre should go into the same basket as filling up the washer fluid, checking the oil.. Hell it should be part of owning a damn car!
Good god some people are limp wristed. And if you find this post offensive.. It's probably aimed at you.![]()
