Rocket used to post on this forum. He was adamant that he had never exceeded the speed limit, not even by 1 km/h.....................ever! He would have bagged the OP mercilessly about his misdemeanour.

Yeah, the guy was a bit unusual.

Heh, all these threads end up the same.

oh im not saying i havent gone 1k over the limit, i have sped before, and been done for it... ive also lost a good friend due to someone going somewhat similar speeds, said friend was not the driver at high speeds... all the guy got was what i call a slap on the wrist. he actually argued he needed his license to get around, played the woe is me card. and lo and behold, he just does it again.

hence why i say if you speed, prepare to face the consequences.

I'm interested to know what land speed record did the OP set?

    155km/h+?

I was 1 short of that, so wasn't me. lol.

In all seriousness, yeah it hurts, just gotta be very careful about what you are doing. Everyone here would "safe speed", flot a little higher and you are easily in the 30+ bracket.

I copped big fine and immediate suspension. Fairly solid impact on my life and set me back a fair bit financially. Was pretty stretched and yeah, had lots of time to think about it.

    Don't harpoon the guy, he know's he's f'd up.
FWIW I got 6 months on the spot, 1744 fine. then a further 3 months for "loss of demerit points" which I appealed, went to traffic offenders, and got quashed. As an apprentice, move out of home, ride the bike, have work laugh at you...all rides home + you do become more aware of what its actually worth.

As the others have said, sell the car and get a whippie bike + track car.
