And killing someone because you've run into them whilst doing 45km over the speed limit can seriously affect the financial situation of their family... plus much more than that!

And their impact doesn't only last 12 months either!

3 months is nothing. 12 months without a car is meant to be a deterrent.

Ahh well man, just don't get caught next time... Jesus, it's like some people have never sped before... Come and see me after you have overtaken a cop at 40km/h over, then had him apologize to you for holding you up!! Only in the NT!!

Anyway, I digress... There is plusses and minuses either way you go. IF you get your licence suspended (mind you, do they actually have evidence that you actually did it yet? Request to see the picture, then frame it!!), I'd make the decision from there. I'd cut the car away, and depending on how long you loose your licence, then re order it later.

    Car is coming next Tuesday.
housemate got done for 30km/h over and lost his for 6 months...

3 months is for a regular point suspension. just cop it sweet and make sure you dont do it again when you get your license back.

I agree ... It seems like the Op was exercising his right foot on a 4 lane highway when there was no one around. If it was in a built up area or at a peak time then I could understand the self-righteous comments condemning him, but without knowing all the details I don't think anyone should be sitting in judgement.

I'd cancel the order. The car is just going to sit there reminding you of what you can't do for twelve months, and as others have mentioned it will be depreciating in value over that time. (Though when you come to sell it 3 or 4 years later I guess it might be a low km example )

Yeah, and we all only go to tracks to speed.... And we don't give it a boot full on the freeway on ramps... And we only buy our Golf GTI/ Golf R/ Polo GTI/ Audi S3 to only drive sedately to the speed limit, and NEVER above....

As far as I see it, the only thing he has done wrong was getting caught... Mate, you live in Victoria... Big Brother is watching you... Even I don't speed in Victoria (I drive spiritedly...)!!
