Actually I think you'll find it was Porsche.

I reckon VW stole it from the Porsche GT3s just before they launched the GTI.
I remember looking with Dad at the online Porsche configurator going, "How sex does that look?".

Yep. Porsche have been producing sexy white sports cars for years. As have Lambo..

Oh, and who can forget the white F350(?) in Miami VICE! Haha.
