Why are there not more e36 M3's around? Awesome performance, looks and around $30k 2nd hand?!?!
Are they a bit of a vr6 in terms of reliability of parts?
I got married about 5 years ago in France (the wife's French) and it's not uncommon to go to a notaire (notary?) to essentially sort out some pre-nupts. Anyway, as part of that I mentioned to the notaire that the classic car I had in my garage (a mini) was mine - not the wifes lol. On that note, he got very interested and started talking cars. My wife was impressed. After I signed my life away he beckoned me out the back of his office/house to his shed where he showed me his cars: Renault Alpine A110, DeTomaso Pantera and a Lancia Delta HF Integrale. All perfect. All achingly beautiful!

Alot worse lol, well probably better but the engine doesn't feature in any other BMW model so the parts are exclusive to it, exclusive = expensive.
Worth every $ though imo...
And some more French/Chrysler goodness from the Facel Vega!
Stiring Moss, Picasso, Dean Martin among others had one.

This got me into Mk1's. I had a Mk4 but I'd love one of these as a project car.
