HOW can it use the rear quarters? I've seen them in the states. They've got MK5 Jetta GTI's too. Bastards.

they use it up to the bit just behind the quarter glass, and then use the skin of the side of the boot to match it up. It's complex to type out, with out the graphical assistance of my hands, but it works..

I don't think i've saved the build thread. A US workshop did it., so it was on there homepage, not vortex or nothing

    EDIT FOR PIC:

    found a pic of it:

It's totally custom job, and a very time-consuming and almost-not-worth-the-effort kind of job. Doors from a 2-door Golf as well. I think it was pulled off by the guys at 1552. I'm sure they did the 2-door Mk4 Jetta. I don't know how many 2-door Mk3 Jetta/Vento examples there were but I'm sure of another one (in Tornado Red I think) that's being shown around in the US at the moment.

And I'm almost certain its a body shop business's project as well, carting it around the shows to see what they can offer. As Ray said, the amount of effort and labour is hardly if not entirely unworthy.
