It's a 99 Chevy C1500 shortbed.
It does need painting though. The primer patch's were already on the cab when I purchased it. Paint color has been selected, but I'm still undecided.
I've been building this from scratch, & I mean scratch. It started life as a bare set of chassis rail's hanging from the shed roof by that rope you can see in the pictures in the back ground.
Then came the cab (which I had to convert RHD), then front clip & then the tub.
Every part has just about been replaced with new stuff, from the bumper's, grill, light's, door rubber's etc.
It's a bloody long process & I'm only at about the 60% stage.
I'm also not in a hurry to do another project like this.
If the money came along, I'd "like" to have it finished by the end of the year.
This is something I'd absolutely love to do Mk1 & also have fun in one day!
Mk1 RWD. Hell Yeh.

Old School VW Motorsport Rallying.
Take note the people who made fun of my Crankcase breather setup.;)
VW Motorsport's very own modified washer bottle breather!

what you really need for a RWD golf,
is the video of it drifting!!!

I'd love to see how this was done! as I have a plan..
and Tim, you already know I love your truck so yea. can't wait to see it smokin' ;)
"Bloody Oath I do!"
Cheers for that Jarred. I can't wait either, but I still have.
By the way. I've just about worked out every detail of a live rear axle(eg. VL Commodore, Gemini, Early falcon) 4 cyl. (I'd really like a V8 though!) RWD mk1 apart from a steering rack.
I'd need to measure a couple of different racks to be sure.
Then it's a matter of engineering it. I've been told it can be done, it will also cost a bit coin & a 76 is the best year to do it too, as in VIC if it's badged a 76, pollution gear isn't required & you can use any aftermarket ECU's eg. Motec, Haltech, Microtech etc.
Something about RWD golf just looks so right :D
everything costs so much. why why why.
Oh well. I'd be an interesting project to do, but for the money it'd cost, I think I'd rather an XP or HK/T/G - low and slow :D
something about difting a golf looks so right
