Early stuff like what we've got run 21 USgallon/min vane fuel pumps (392cui). The newer engines run a different and more complicated fuel system with 2 gear pumps and they flow 80 gallon/min (500cui). An engine like ours should produce between 2000 and 2500 horsepower. The modern engines make around about 8000hp.
To sum it up:
2500hp :eek:
8000hp :eek:
79 L/min :eek:
302 L/min :eek::eek:
I have long wondered if car manufacters and/or exhaust system makers considered the sonic & resonate properties of their exhausts and tuned them appropriately. You can almost think of a cars exhaust like a musical instrument!
