    CAR PRICES MK 1s

ok its only come to my attention that all the vw drivers who are wanting to sell there mk1 , basically they cant afford to run them or cant be assed and then want to sell them at stupid prices in conditions that are ridiculous,

i know i might sound a bit forward but the section for sales is getting a bit out of the standerd where enthusiests want to pass on there cars to others , but for more money !!!
if you cant afford it dont buy it and dont CASH IN

    any comments !!!

Perhaps all Mk1 owners want to sell because thay have realized thare are a lot of more modern cars for the same money that are nicer to drive. Also they probably want big money as they have thrown money into a Mk1 money pit, often modifying it a way that doesnt appeal to everyone.

The one that annoys me are the ones who post it at some unrealistic price, use the stupid BUMP feature every day and then feel aggrieved that it doesnt sell in a week.

Good Mk1s are worth nothing and are not selling.

I got offered $5k for my Genuine GTI today and decided that I`d rather keep it.

    WORD.

There are a few that i think shouldnt be over a couple of grand but the people are asking more than twise that.

I guess people are just charging you for the "mods" regardless that the car is rubish.

thats true a genuine mk1 will carry the right price, but with mods ect...it cant really justify when people have to to carry them over inspections for road use through the transport department .

Cos most of the time they will have to rectify the mods to go back to stock in some cases , i see that there is a few good mk1 here and are genuine and have been well kept and restored, still so many parts out there to get hold off
and the work and time that gets carried out will determin the overall sale of a good mk1.....

ive got a rule, if you dont like the price, dont buy it, dont even look at it, dont even post up that it seems to expensicive, if its not your car, its not your problem, its the owner's problem if it sells or not......

agree with most of you...mine could have been cheaper, but there was a certain Melbourne j*wish guy, no names.... who owned a metallic blue English import Cabby back in the '80's (i knew his gorgeous sister, who drove a white Uk import Ford Escort (read Laser) cab also) and it was always parked at the front door of Chasers in 1986 , when all i had was my $600 Harbour Blue Bug., as a broke RMIT student......i always loved the look of the small bumper Mk 1 Cabby, so there u have it

i think we all have an attidude about these things ! but just talkin about the small percentage of peps using this vw site as a fast way to put there car online !!
Its great to see all types of watercooled cars for sale regardless of price but there comes a line of what is the value .... and these days who has the money ?

True, but it seems that most people aren't willing to pay much, or at least different people have varying ideas of what they should be willing to pay.
