olski1:Hi.
Sorry to read about the tragic story of your Golf. I have long advocated for laws in Australia forcing trees to give-way to cars. But alas I can't get anyone to listen - especially the trees -whose silence is deafening!
Seriously, your MIB will have what VW calls "Component Protection" which is a kind-of anti-theft mechanism if you believe the VW material - or it's an extra revenue earner for dealers if you don't believe VW!!
CP is an authorization license that's linked to the car's VIN. If anyone tries to install your MIB into another car (which will have a different VIN), a CP error will be generated on the first ignition switch-ON after installation. The normal result of a CP error will be poor/no sound. To officially remove CP errors, the car will need to be sent to a dealer -who will re-authorize the MIB to the new VIN.
So, bottom-line: the MIB buyer will need to factor-in the cost of a dealer visit (which should be the minimum time charged by a dealer for a master-tech's time - roughly somewhere around $250?)
The other way to remove CP errors is to hack the MIB. Of course, this is a very unofficial alternative and it requires that the MIB is connected to the hacker's facility (either as a stand alone unit, or with the car after installation)

PS:I'm not quite sure what you mean by the Dynaudio - the external amplifier for Dynaudio lives under the passenger seat. It sounds like you are talking about the sub-woofer speaker only (which is part of Dynaudio) - maybe?

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.
