    Calling All DSG Owners!!

It's been 7 years since the first introduction of DSG from Audi/VW group
I think it's about time we do a large scale non-official survey on our forum (It's the right time because I'm buying one this weekend) to end all the myths related to it's reliability and put an end to pointless debates regarding the matter.

Please post your specification in this format if you had issues with DSG

Car Model: 2006 Passat TDI 103kw
Mileage at which the problem occurred: XXXX Km
    Fault: low speed Jerkyness
    Fix: Mechatronics unit replaced

If you did not have any issues with DSG then simply say this

Car Model: 2006 Passat TDI 103kw
    Current Mileage: XXXX Km
    No issues.

In no way can we get a definitive result because our sample number is way too small, please let's not let this degenerate into the usual fors and againsts taking pot shots at each other.

To the OP, you worry too much, take delivery of your car and just enjoy it.

PS, I think I qualify for 2 votes.

    I hope so too
All I want to do is to make a good guide line for the future VW owners to base their decisions and inform them with useful feedback.
    Everyone stay classy PLEASE!

Can I vote for the 9 people I know with DSG equipped VWs? None of them are represented on this forum in any other way.....

1 had a whole gearbox replaced - very major problems
3 had mechatronics replaced - had major problems
3 had some sort of software patch uploaded to "fix" mild problems
2 had no problems at all.

5 of those 7 will never buy a DSG equipped car again .....

7 of those 9 will never buy a VW again ....

AND most disturbingly 6 of those 9 will never take my advice again when it comes to buying a car ...

Don't you guys find the DSG changes-down a little too early ?? (I live on a corner and hear them in VW's and Audi's everyday and always wonder why they shift so early !!?)
