    Buying parts from the U.S.

I'm just about to pull the trigger on a shiny new exhaust from the U.S. My only worry is that I'll get charged import tax when it arrives.

If anyone has had any experience with buying parts from the U.S. and can give some insight that would be greatly apreciated!

I think it only applies if what you buy is over $1,000

Cheers for the reply. I used the import calculator in the link and a $1178 downpipe will cost $1647.

Needless to say I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger!

Yes I got caught a year back brining in components from overseas , the main problem is once the value of the goods exceeds 1 k they will then add the freight cost and import duty and stick the GST on top of the whole price .
