Almost a religious experience..
Hey Guys,
Just driving home from the train station (it's about a 30 minute drive to Moggill) this afternoon and as I came off the Centenary motorway at Kemore something truly rare happened.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S (w/ some ungodly exhaust) in front of me and an Audi R8 behind me. Let's just say the locals were treated to a symphony of German power. The guy (lady acutally) in the Cayenne would gun it and I'd keep up fairly easily in the GTI (especially through the twisty bits), the guy in the R8 was doing the typical supercar owner thing and just hanging back observing the uh... well a more conservative approach to suburban roads.
Then I heard an almighty roar and much to my surprise (and probably the very very loud cayenne driver's surprise also) there was a very low, very wide Audi becoming much ... much larger in everyone's mirrors. This hooliganism repeated several times until we hit Brookfield when they both turned off the main road, but in true rev head fasion I recieved a polite wave of rev head comradery from the Audi driver as he effortlessly slid past (which of course I returned along with a stupid grin).
Anyway, was such a great trip I just felt I had to tell you all - Happy driving
Dave

Almost a religious experience..
Those are the driving experiences we live for.
I always enjoy seeing a supercar on my drives even if it's in the other direction.
Same as i always get giddy when i hear one of the few C63's that burble through the city.
you gotta love the fact that they sound like every other car when driving normally, and when you floor em they sound orgasmic
well priced compared to rs5 and m3
cool story - nice the Audi guy acknowledged you

this reminds me of when me and my "snowboarding soul mate" used to finish up after a blue bird day on the hill in sapporo, japan.
up early, 3 ft of the freshest, lightest powder in the world, on a weekday, no crowds or wait times, murdering the backcountry all morning, awesome lunch, then hitting up the park all afternoon and landing some new tricks that we'd been struggling with for a week, back down to the lodge to put our gear in our member's lockers, a quick beer before getting back on the bus to go down to the train station, exhausted but so stoked.
oh, and the best bit? once dropped off by the bus out the back of the train station, actually having to make our way through the small 3 floor department store adjoining the train station to get up to the platform - the only way to get there was via the lingerie section of the store, haha.
My best drive home from work ever, will be on the day I retire. However, this is a close second.

I was on my way home the other night. As I drive through a large intersection I couldn't help but notice a hot blonde get out of a Mercedes SLS roadster (gullwing door exit) to ask the driver of the R8 in front of her stopped at the lights something...
Needless to say my rubber neck almost went all exorcist on me as I strained to cop an eyeful...

Should have stalked and invited to Euro meet. The R8 is probably the same one I've seen around Chapel Hill, I think they used to have a Maserati Grand Sport.
