The plank was bought in from 1994 in an effort to slow cars down. It was found that his car bottoming out contributed to Ayrton Senna's death, and hence why you don't see the sparks any more (which looked really cool!!).

Hahaha. One of the boys from work and I went. Worked out good. Got back in time for work and didn't even have to take the day off!

I heard Lowndes did a 2:11 or so and Button did something like a 2:16. He only had two laps in the car, and the track hadn't rubbered up with grip the way it does across a V8 weekend.

Great footage though.
