"Flashback" Junior Fuel car. Owned by Mike and Carroll Algire. Great people. We met them on the Friday night at the Doubletree and they told us to stop by. Mike showed us right over the car and introduced us to guys like Gene Adams (the best injected nitro tuner in the world!). Carroll told us to pile on the back of the club car and showed us all around the pits down further and introduced us to even more people! I met the chick that answers the phone at Hilborn Fuel Injection, she told me any time i'd like to see the manufacturing facility to drop and and they'd show us around! Even got some stickers and a digital catalog off her..

Brendan Murray's new N/TF car. Stunning. Just stunning. Rooman built the car from scratch in 27 days!








Riceman's car, fireup. This was pretty scary. It was coughing some serious raw fuel out the pipes and looking seriously dangerous to the point we walked away from it. Afterwards, Roger came up to Rick and said "I need help", so Rick grabbed the injector and he and i went into his trailer and reset everything to his specs. When i say "he and I", i just helped out and asked lots of questions..



Ron Johnson's "Shubert & Herbert" SBC AA/FD. Rick, once again on the tune. He built the engine in this car, too..

Dennis Young and George B getting set for the first ever push start of "Scorcher". Dennis invited Dad and I along to ride in the back of the truck. Obviously we said "Hell ****ing yeah!"

Mum's first Cackle in the Magicar. She enjoyed it so much she got all teary! haha.





After that, we checked for clutch engagement for the pushstart on saturday night and noticed the clutch fork was fouling on some bolt heads in the can, because someone had used the wrong bolts.. Bill said "Don't worry about it. We'll just static start it tomorrow night." and Jeep (Hampshere) said to him "Bull****. We can get this done in an hour. Hell we could get it done in 45 minutes for the next round if we had to!" hahaha.

It was a huge thrash by Rick, Vince, Chris Anderson and myself to unbolt the can (bellhousing), unbolt the (850 pound!!) engine, lift the engine forward, take the bolts out, then put it all back together for the "Cackle Thunder" (a competition for the "loudest cacklecar" using a DB meter at a set distance) competition. We got it done and just in time to roll around and slot in. I backed the engine down and Bill asked me to jump in for the fireup (on 90%!!). Rick really gave the thing hell. I was wearing earmuffs and they were dancing around on my head from the percussion! After it shut off the crowd all clapped and cheered. I sat up in the seat, one guy actually came up and shook my hand! Pics of that to come, but not tonight.
