    Awaiting parts - angry!!!

So had a little accident in my mk7 r line golf

has been at the panel beaters for 6 weeks...they ring me at the beginning of the week saying
it will be ready by Friday as they are awaiting a bumper or grill (front lady at reception reading notes)

Get a call on friday saying that volkswagon sent the wrong part, and there is none in the country
and are awaiting the part to now come in from europe

i think its an absolute joke that a car that is less than 6 months old doesn't have spare parts here in aus

    Is this right?

    cheers

    Feel your pain, not cool.

This is the whole reason VWA doesn't offer a lot of options and choices their customers want - the warranty/parts issue it creates in a small market. Obviously turns out they treat their customers with even more contempt then we realised by not bothering to stock parts for the cars they do bother importing.

It's no consolation but VW aren't alone in this regard.

Perhaps check directly with VW or perhaps something in NZ.

If the answer to the Monty Hall problem was 50/50, the contestant, on average, would win the car 50% of the time simply by sticking with their original guess...but you can only win a one-in-three guessing game 33.33% of the time so it can't be 50/50, can it?

Practically everything on the car has the number on it. So sending the wrong part shouldn't be possible, if the panel shop double checked it with the physical part.
Can you not get the car back and have the part fitted later?
