There's a few supercharged Camry's running around Brisbane, but they're rare. The kits come from America and I believe they use actual TRD superchargers.

The same comment applies to both the SV6 Commodore and XR6 Falcon, both do 6.5s 0-100km/h. I think in standard form the GTI is under done. Yes a stage 1 tune remedies the situation some what, but then leaves you with the warranty argument (just had to replace my inlet manifold, just out of warranty). Any rep mobile falcon or commodore driven in anger from the traffic lights will leave you behind initially. I recently took an XR6 along the Great Ocean Road, the performance and handling was reasonable, but certainly the interior of the car is where the obvious differences are.

I don't really care too much about 0-100 times, after all traffic light drags are not what driving is about.

The question that comes to my mind is would I rather drive an Aurion over a Golf GTI (or in my case a VW Eos)? The answer of course is no, no, no, no, no, no, no no, no, no, no, no, no, no no, no, no, no, no, no, no!

Also begs the question, why is it always a Camry/Aurion meandering along in the right lane below the speed limit steadfastly refusing to move to the left and let others pass by?

    0-100 means nothing.

    Cheers

If you're only interested in traffic light drags why on earth would you buy a GTI? A GTI is about so much more than straight line speed, and provides a driving experience that an Aurion never will.

Enjoy the real strengths rather than worrying about imagined weaknesses.

Where did you get this done ? And would I get similar results tuning a bora 4mo ?

edit: just found this Powerchip brochure for the bora.... 1300 bucks for increase of 30 Nm torque and 16kw seems a little steep, no ?

There's a reason Lotus uses that engine in the Evora... and a supercharged version of same in the Evora S.

Most chip tune upgrades have bigger gains for turbo cars. Also, Powerchip is not a brand that is frequently discussed on this forum.

Maybe ask in the Golf 4 section.
