    Anyone used volkswagendiscounts.com.au?

    Hi folk,

I'm looking into purchasing a small car for commuting and I'm looking at the 77TSI polo. During my research using google I came across a website volkswagendiscounts.com.au which appear to be able to get VWs at fleet discount prices.

Has anyone here used their services before? I haven't got a quote off of them yet.

The only con that I can think of is that they probably don't have ANY stock, whereas purchasing from a dealer might have floor stock (although probably often not the spec that people are after).

    Cheers,
    Dave.

These guys are simply brokers, it is the same as if you were on Corporate Pricing - but not as good as they will add a fee.

Simply search the forums here to see if you qualify for any professional organisations and joining up will give you their Corporate pricing.

    Thanks guys,

Thanks Peter, you're right. Same phone number.

Thanks Mik, I had previously searched on "fleet" and "volkswagendiscounts" but didn't find anything. Searching on "Corporate pricing" after reading your reply helped. I found the thread http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f112...nes-40843.html

I'm in IT myself but I'm not part of Australian Computer Society (ACS) so I won't be able to get it, but my wife's a Registered Nurse so I'm checking with VW to see if she qualifies (I sent them an enquiry). If that doesn't work I'll probably give it a go with the PrivateFleet place.

It seems the discount can sometimes be quite substantial.

    Hi Hoofee,

If your wife is a member of the Australian Nursing Federation and you register the car in her name, then you should be eligible. Just check with your dealer before they price up the car for you. If you're in IT, do you work for a larger company? Are you planning to salary sacrifice the car? These are the questions you'll be asked by the dealer in ascertaining whether or not you're entitled to the corporate structure.

Be wary of places like Private Fleet etc. They have to buy cars off dealers too - we sell cars to them, then they mark up the price to get their lick and then arrange for the customer to pick the car up directly from us. In most cases you'll be better off going to the dealer in person - you'll get a better deal without a middle man.

Corporate Pricing is not available to fleet companies - it is based on the end user so be careful with non-Volkswagen affiliated companies that promise the world then have to bill you for their mistake.

    Cheers all!!

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes she's a member of ANF. Registering the car in her name wouldn't be a problem. We intend to pay cash so there's no salary sacrifice involved etc. No trade-in either, nice and simple.

I do work for a large billion dollar IT company which is listed on the NASDAQ but I don't believe they are affiliated with any car manufacturers. I'm not sure if they need to be.

I spoke to PrivateFleet a couple of days ago. The person mentioned that VW don't give an overly large discount, he mentioned that I'd probably only save ~$1000 on a Polo or a bit more on a Golf. The way they work is they charge you a $178 fee for becoming a member of theirs (which would only be charged if I went ahead with a purchase with them). If I wanted to try them I'd need to put in a detailed quote request with them (they will only quote on one car at a time). I would need to specify all of the accessories that I'm looking for and they would then put it out to tender to all of their dealerships.

I'd much prefer to deal with the dealerships directly than go through a middleman and if a corporate discount is available to my wife or myself then I'd probably be getting at least that $1000 discount if not more judging by that other thread.

    Cheers.
