Anyone received VWA latest Golf GTD promotion in the mail.

Received mine today.

It would seem its only sent out to "Volkswagen diesel owners"

Anyway if you receive it let me know what the rest of the cardboard bits are for.

The envelope consisted of the following :

1. thin piece of paper with the details of the GTD.
1. thick cardboard piece of the actual pic of a GTD.
1. thick cardboard piece of an ocean liner.
1. another cardboard piece with a Hill. (looks like mount Everest but the title says "Hill"
1. and something different another cardboard piece of a picture of a whale with the tile "Fish"

Still trying to work out what an ocean liner, Hill,and whale have to do with the GTD. (anyone???)

Maybe you will have a whale of a time, and able to concur great distances.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it.

the hill is meant to be pronounced ''heil'', and the word is ''fisheilboat'', which is ''sports diesel'' in german.

got a test drive next monday, cant wait!

I think the promotion might have gone down a bit better in Germany.

The whale is a mammal not a fish
and the ocean liner is a ship not a boat.

Anyway the material has not sucked me into buying one just yet, but when the GTD comes with the bluemotion I'll be there.

I think you actually get it, you need to see that the descriptions are understatements - hence where the GTD being called simply a diesel is an understatement.

I thought it was pretty neat, kids loved the cards.
