    Gearbox extended Warranty

    Does any know or heard that VW Australia has or will be extending all warranties on all gearboxes on all VW badged vehicles from 3yrs to 5yrs / 150 000km ?

    There's a brief article about it from one of the journos in Feb edition of Wheels magazine. (page 14 or 15 I think it was)
    Sold - CW Mk6 MY12 GTI 5 Door DSG, Sunroof, Leather, RNS510, MDI, Tints, Lakin plate holders, BT & RVC, projected 'GTI' door lights

    Current - Lapiz blue mk7 Golf R DSG fully optioned.

    Great news! This might just push me from selling after the warranty is up to keeping for an extra couple of years! (If the need for a larger car doesn't arise before then )

    Yet in the USA, china, Russia etc they all get 10 year warranties. I'm just asking why is Australia getting a different treatment?

    Probably for the same reason we get shafted on everything else, small market, yada yada..

    Because the last model of T5 I bought came with 5 cylinder 2.5L engine and the new one is 2.0L 4 cylinder from Golf.
    ...and it doesn't get any better, our 2008 Touareg 3.0L TDI came with good ground clearance and much better off road 4x4 system than the current attempt.
    So, yeah I will keep both for over 10 years.
