    1966 Dragfest Tribute night

The weekend just past was the setting for the tribute/reunion for the 1966 Dragfest. The Dragfest was the first USA tour of Australia and a hallmark for Australian Drag Racing. The Dragfest is what really kicked off Drag Racing in Australia.

American Bob Keith was guest of honour. He attended the original Drag Fest and was one of only 2 people to do all 3 tours.

Here's some pics from the weekend..

    More pics to come..

Glad to hear someone else is interested! haha.

By the way, the tall older guy with the cap on standing and chatting with John Maher (and also squatting down near the fuel tank with him) is Morrie Carlton. He purchased the car from John and raced it in A/FD and a few times in Top Fuel.. We have restored the car to the way Morrie used to have it. He and John hadn't seen eachother in about 30 years..

    Awesome pics as usual Preeny!

There is just soooooo much car stuff going on around this time of year & I'm still not able to find time to get up there.

Love it & keep up the great work (as I know both you & Ross can only do!)

    Cheers dude.

As i mentioned to you, we're pretty sure it stuck No5 exhaust valve the second time we fired it off, so the heads will have to come off before we fire it next. Rick had trouble with this on a few of his engines and we built the heads before he figured out how to fix it, so we'll have to make some adjustments..
