To tell you the truth, on the street, i dont think you will really notice the difference between 8kg wheels and 12kg wheels

MODS- TOO MANY
I think you would.
for example two exact setups.
17x8et35 225/40 wheel weight of 8kg
17x8et35 225/40 with a wheel weight of 12kg
People get confused when running smaller wheels (say 15" vs 17") yeah sure the 15" wheel is lighter, but the 15" tyre is also going to weigh more.
When I had the LMs on there was a huge difference between those and some of the other moderate weighted wheels
I can't remember the exact numbers, but each extra kilo of wheel weight (unsprung) its equal to 10kg or something of sprung weight. I can't remember the exact numbers, but I do believe it was reasonably significant.
I dont really notice the difference when i switch from my Bora Sports to the BBS and the bbs are heaps lighter.
I guess with a turbo car it never really runs the same, performance depends more on weather/temperature/fuel etc. Im sure on the track even knocking off .5 of a second helps
Maybe in a slow car you would notice the weight more, im sure Dylan has experenced it lol![]()
MODS- TOO MANY
I dont know weither it is night and day
Do you put a few kg lighter wheels on and think, oh wow my car feels fast ?
MODS- TOO MANY
I noticed a difference when going from 17x7 boavistas to the 18x7.5 Aristos. I know the Aristos are heavier but can't remember by how much.
