have a look for mischa's golf gt tdi build thread.. he's running 17x8.5 audi tt wheels. i think they're something like et50.. which is quite similar to the poke-age from those wheels... i think.
I'm looking at buying some new wheels (looks like Racing Dynamics Pro Race 1.2) in the next few months, question is will they poke out of the body at all (which I do not want them to do)???
The specs are 18" x 8.0" ET 45 (i think thats 12mm further out then the current ones GT 17" Classixs)
This might be pushing it but does anyone have pics of what similar size looks like on a MkV??
P.s If I do buy new wheels my current ones inc. rubber will be for sale

87' MK2 GTI
13' MK7 TDI
you wont have any issues with a ET45... anything under 40 youll start sticking out...
Thanks! Now just have to wait patiently for tax return....
On a similar theme....
I'm looking for some new GTI style rims for the new Golf 6. I think standard ET is 45 but I have specced the sport package with lower suspension and 17" x 7" alloys. The ET on these wheels is 54.
If I get a set at 17" x 7.5" with a 45 offset they will stick out an extra 15mm. Is that too much or is it a matter of measuring how far the outer edge of the guard is to ensure the wheels don't go past it?
The shop where I'm looking to buy suggested milling 3mm off the inner face to make them still out less but that would surely weaken the wheel????
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
