the normal suspention has the spring cup, ABOVE the wheel/tyres, whereas coilovers have the springs pretty much all the way down the shocker... hence an extra 1 or so inch will take up more room in the wheel well

    cheers

    ok

I see, the springs start to enter the space where the wheel and tyre are. Coilovers are the best for handling are they because of a lager travel in the spring and more of it? Are coilovers a must for good handling, can the standard system give as good a result? So the 7 inch rim will foul the coil, do i need to go back to a 6.5 rim?

not really, you just need to find a wheel with a 7" rim to be offsets of around 32 to be safe the lower the better

X2 doms know what he's talking about.

i've got 15x7 et31, i wouldn't want to go any higher in offset. (i've coilovers too)

    Coilovers

Ive noticed everyone seems to like the coilovers and bilstiens keep coming up. Can I adjust my height with coilovers? Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced set of coilovers?

As Dom said hottunings from EvoRobin are good, I have no problems in the ride at all and think they are pretty good.

Even insane low like me and Dom its still confortable.
