First I had stock plastic ones with a whiteline sway bar, then stock end links on a different whiteline sway bar, now whiteline end links and a whiteline sway bar. Are your FKs adjustable??

These sway bars and end links are going to be the most expensive things on my car soon!

EDIT: what is everyone else running on there Mk4s in AUS? i only installed mine to allow me to go low, and it seems to have backfired a little

    Hi Dylan,

I hope it is ok to step in here .I just thought i would let you know that when you post on here it takes us a little while to find out and as we pride ourselves on our customer service and after sales service it would be great if you could contact us direct as well to solve the problem of our product.

You are probably aware but the Front sway bar for the MK4 has a foot note on the listing that states only fits FWD models with control arm mounted link .It also states it will only work with cars no lower than 40-45 mm from the stock height.

Also does the bar have poly rings on it to stop sideways movement ?

I find it would be allot easier if you email me direct at wayneb@redranger.com.au (I have taken over from John Leighton ) and i can deal with this promptly and get you what you need or a solution to your problem.Include your phone number and I will phone you as well if you think that would be easier or faster .

I will wait for email and lets get you happy and cornering the way you wish.

    Thanks

Ah ok. Mine are adjustable, although I'm not exactly sure how effective they are. I only just wrapped some masking tape around the driveshaft on the driver side to see if it does still rub as I think it might. I haven't had a chance to get back under it and check if the tape is rubbed away yet though.

I hope it all goes well for you mate.

well new end links in, seems to be ok so far, but ill let time tell.
I did the same with the tape, doesnt take much to make them clear though.

Ill email you after I see how it goes Wayne.
To answer your questions on here. Yep my car is a FWD, and in regards to the "control arm mounted link" im guessing you mean the plastic or metal end links?? if so yes i have them.
Has that note about only being able to lower 40-45mm always been on the site..? because i have never seen it before, and I wouldnt have brought the bar if this is the case. I only got it for going low, as the Mk4 bora and golfs need to be altered when they go below ~40mm. I believe I must be about 60-70mm lower then normal (but this is also to do with smaller sized tyres so I couldnt give you an exact measurement)

This bar has two poly rings on it (the first bar didnt have them at all) BUT the poly rings themselfs arnt fixed in place on the bar, so my mechanic and myself could never work out what they were for.

I also noticed the bar is rubbing on the body in the centre and on both control arms (will try to get some pictures)

hey Dylan, I've got the non-adjustable whiteline bar with stock vw end links and I haven't had a problem since I got it installed.

I actually took some pics the other day when I was winding the coilovers down a bit, so I might as well post them up, hope they can help in some way. This is the passenger side only, with the car jacked up...

looks like mine might be rubbing on the LCA slightly too, judging by that last pic, but I've never noticed it until now.

yeah I had adjustable end links with the standard swaybar, but when I put the whiteline swaybar on I decided to go back to the factory end links as you don't need adjustable ones with this bar. I prefer to use OEM parts whenever possible.

I know this isn't my thread, but thanks too for that Anth. Mine rubs on the driver's side only; pretty severely now too. I'm actually going to raising a little tomorrow and perhaps look for a solution in the new year.

No worries. I wish I had a better look at the drivers side because I lowered my car about half an inch when I took those pics and now I have a nice groaning/creaking noice from the front drivers side somewhere, only when I take off or slow down to a stop (when the weight is shifting on and off the front end.) Not sure if it's the struts or the swaybar.
