Yeah, loon, never confuse interstate federal politicians with euro specced small bumpered GTI's and their owners... (screw this cold weather, though. I am freezing.)
Look up Simmons wheels on ebay atm. There is a set of 15x6 multipiece rims that would look nice on a 1. Probably would need to bore out the centre to 57.1, though. I did that to my RS, and I need to do it to my Simmons V4 track wheels. 3 piece wheels rock!!!
Euro look 2... Mk2 love!
Mrgolf... We will be forever in your debt. A very comprehensive list (however as a Pug enthusiast I notice that there is no mention of the various 505s...and 140PCD wheels are currrently a concern of mine). Now, if you have influence in Canberra, how about leaning on a few pollies and get the stupid car import laws changed. Start by getting the 15 year rule to roll over each year. Then get the "Special interest" car list expanded to include any model not offically imported into Oz. For example; Scirocco, Santana, Mk2 Golf, any diesel-engined model of an imported petrol-engined car...etc, etc.
My pleasure. I do not have sway with pollies. They all come from interstate, and have never let me off a speeding fine. Canberra is more than just home of Parliament, its also nice roads....and....uhhh....pretty views of snowy mountains...and....ummmm...clean, its quite clean.... That is all....
Cant help you with Pug sizes, either, sorry. Found this on the net and cleaned it up, but its all there was.
Euro look 2... Mk2 love!
BTW, what is it with the 505 GTI. Sure, it was probably a reasonable car, but why did Peugeot feel it necessary to sully the GTI badge like that? The 205 GTI would also have been hurt by this silly idea!!!
Euro look 2... Mk2 love!
there was also a 505 STi....

"GT" = "Gran Tourisimo" (or something like that) which is a snobby way of saying, "My car is better than yours!" "i" = "injection" which should mean that the car is fuel injected. Work it out for yourself. The Pug GTI is a relatively slow car despite it's 2.2L of fuel injected motor. It's heavy. The Golf GTi is a very quick car so really what it comes down to is power to weight ratio. I can personally vouch for the excellent handling/pointing/braking/suspension of the Pug. Mine was outstanding and I really miss it, however there is NOTHING that compares to the Golf driven by an experienced front wheel driver.Originally Posted by mrgolf
