    Wheels for 2009 Polo TDi

Gday! I'm looking at getting some new wheels for my 2009 TDi Polo as I'm due for new tyres anyway. Does anyone know how big I should go, effects of changing wheel size and if I can get used VW rims anywhere? My current wheels are 13" or 14" stock ones I think.

    Thanks!

Search around the forum, there is plenty of info on here regarding wheels and polos.

5x100 PCD, best sizing to sick to is between 16s-17s, Offset of +20 to +45 depending on width, can go as wide a an 8" without issues. 215 is probably the widest tyre you can run, most people run 205s

Plenty of VW and VAG rims that suit

do a search in the polo section and you'll get a lot of hits and photos to wade through.

I have been doing some investigating on wheels for Golf MKIV and my VI as well. In doing so I consulted a dealer and was surprised to find out that a set of 17" called Exor fit Polo and Golf IV. Very nice wheel and no mods needed. Check with your local dealer and see how you go.

buying from VW will cost you an arm and a leg, try ebay should find them at a lot less.

Also don't just look at VW wheels or wheels made specificly for the polo, if the wheel has the right offset, the PCD can be changed with adaptors. Give you a lot more options to look at.

if you are keen, keep an eye on ebay. I picked up a set of Siata's (VW OEM) for less than $600 new about a year ago and recently refurbished a set of Audi TT wheels I bought from Melb.

there are often sets from other Polos (eg mine sold recently) or Mk4 Golfs that get sold on here. Early Audi A3 / S3 / TT wheels also fit.

Have a look at the tyre thread in the Polo section for reviews and info on Tyres.

I might have found a set of 16" (16 x 6.5) rims that are off a new Golf. Does anyone have any recommendations for tyre size on these? I've been told 205/45 but would love to get others thoughts on this?

    thanks!

New golf is 5x112 and won't fit the 5x100 pattern on the 2009 Polo.
