It should be fine to use the existing vw nuts. What are the specs of the VMRs?

    Bolts you mean?
Your stock bolts should be a ball seat type, I'd imagine ble (like most aftermarket wheels) have a conical seat instead.
Also the depth of the seat can make a difference if the bolts are too long or too short

    Hey, mate.

Put VMR's on 2 years ago now, the standard bolts fit fine, just the locking bolt (1 per wheel) doesn't... I think you can get aftermarket locking bolts, however i just bought 4 new 'standard' bolts at a dealership @ about $8 each.

Good idea to get one of those wheel bolt sockets that have a nylon outer protective sleeve!

I've just changed my wheels and used not only the OEM wheel bolts but the plastic caps as well. They should have enough thread for secure fitment, but do a test fit just to make sure.

1 out of each 5 is different in that you need to use the key-like tool to undo the 'locked' bolt. The 'bit' is supplied in the tool pouch. That particular bolt has a head slightly larger that doesn't work with VMR's.

One of the five bolts on each wheels should be a locking bolt/lock.. so you wouldnt get it off without the 'key' which should be with the spare.

Unfortunately any wheel thief who really wants your wheels will not be bothered by the lock nut.
