If my front wheel bearings were stuffed... does it make noise when im driving straight??

as my wheels spin, it makes a noise

is it a expensive part aswell??

Yeah that sounds like your wheel bearing dude. It's a really annoying, constant noise (I've got it on the rear wheels haha). I got my wheel bearings from GAP for my car for like....15 each or something insanely cheap like that. The fronts are more expensive, but I don't think they were more than about $28 ea from GAP as well.

you have to press the front bearings in and out.. it'd be easier to take them somewhere not insanely expensive and have them do it. they cost like 40 or 50 per side from tooleys imports up in hornsby. much easier to get them from here.

maybe your buckled rims are contributing to it..?

You know its a bearing when you have a loud whiring noise, mine sounded like a helicopter when it had gone. As you are going around a corner you'll find as the weight is all on one wheel the noise stops.

yep!! same noise.. i thought it was my buckled rim.. and i put all my stockies bak on and same noise..

Buckled rims cause bearing failure is what Jay is trying to say. Don't put buckled rim on once you have the new bearings...

My dad changed both right and left front wheel bearings on his VR6 for $70 each from Repco. Did them himself, made the tools he needed, took about 3 hours each side. Turns out it was the front right wheel bearing that had a faulty ball in the bearing which had delaminated.
