maybe 205/40 for the rears..
Well fellas my wheels have been finished and I can't thank Peter from OzWheels more than anything!
My question is that I am after some nice stretch but I don't want to compromise my handling!
So the question here be what size tyres to get for 16x7.5 and 16x8s?
I am thinking already 16x40x??? and thats where I stop cause I am not sure what else I can use to achieve what I want

there isn't alot of differance in your rim sizes is ther, i'b be worried that the profile of the stretch won't match front and rear, if you used 205 front and back. Can you get a 195/40? i'd be using that up front.
Standard size on the VR is 205 I really don't want to go lower than as I dont want to compromise handling with a smaller size tyre.
I think I might have a look at the Falken 512s alot of the US guys use them and seem to achieve stretch quite relatively well.

Holy farrk I should have kept them aye Steve? They look sweeeet!
I'd just stick with same sized tyres all around. 7.5" and 8" ain't much different. What's the offset on those? If Peter didn't give you those figures, did he provide you with the backspacing figures? If they're low (< ET25) I'd stick with a 195/45 all around for that extra clearance. If you want wider tyres, I would only go 205/40 at the widest. The 195/45 is closer to your stock rolling diameter.
The Toyo T1R is also popular with stretching; I've never had those before so I can't comment much, except that they look awesome!
Don't go Nankangs though. Here's 205/40 on 16x8:
And 195/45 on 16x7:
Raymond they are the same wheels as what you had I like the 205 tyre looks good and they are pretty much the exact same spec as when you had them.

195 for sure.
