I went for goodyear gsd3s about 6 months back. I was looking for goodyear f1s, which were on the car when i bought it and they were grippy an durable. Happy with the gsds tho
Yokohama A-Drive are the go for small cars IMHO, great grip in the wet and dry - need to be careful of pressures as some minor changes really threw the handling!

Budget tyres, can't go past BFGoodrich G Force Sport's hand's down. Have had them on several car's. Excellent grip, hard wearing & also good in the wet.
Recently I fitted some 195/50R15's Michelin Pilot Preceda's on my old banger & I'll say, if you've got the coin, you won't ever go wrong with these tyre's.
The best tyre's I've ever had as far as wearing & all round stuff goe's (obviously with a correct wheel alignment with just alittle more negative camber on the front) were 195/50R15 Dunlop Leman's 701's. I had set fitted when I was driving a 250k round trip everyday & got 115K out of them & were still roadworthy, so I sold them on the rims & the new owner got another 30K out of them which was also on a mk1.
Pitty they don't make them anymore in the same style.
mk2 in pov pack mode at the moment...
silversones on front and Nexens on rear (goodyear F1 pattern)
nexens are a bit slipery when pushed hard in the wet, but dry they are a good budget tyre (145.00 each for 205/40 x17) Antdragonist witnessed this on his visit to Tas cupla weeks ago ... best tyres ive had would have to be the formula FM dunlops on my GTi-R pulsar...i wont skimp on tyres on that thing, it chews the cheapies up.....
Cheers, Benny

Ordered Toyo T1-R today. 195/50/15 $150 each fitted. I was happy with that![]()
That's actually a decent price! I'm thinking of the exact same tyres as my next choice. Let us know how well they go![]()
