    Wanted help to over-bore centre of 54mm alloy wheel x 4

    After tracking down another set of good alloy wheels and tyres, I need a good workshop to help bore the centre (from 54 to 57mm)

    Can anyone asist??

    THe place is run by a couple of nice old guys. Have had them do a bit of work in the past. They do repairs/modifications but dont do paint/refinishing. I had them quote me to open up the centre bore on some rims I have by a mm. They quoted me $100 for the whole set.

    Just about anybody with a lathe could do it, am I right?

    Yes, anyone with lathe could...I'm hoping to find someone who could perhaps be able to do it with the tyres still fitted ?!?

    Ummmm im not sure if people woul dlike the tyres still fitted.

    Im pretty sure mine were done on a mille.

    It would be much easier for them to do it with the tyres removed. Most tyre shops would only charge 20 bucks or something (if at all) to pull the tyres off anyways..

    You can do them on either. Comparatively, you don't need as big of a mill to do them as a lathe.. So someone with either a CNC mill of capable size or a mill with a boring head that can do up to 57mm (pretty common size) would probably be easier to find.

    Thanks for the tips Guys...spoke to Ajax today and they said they'd do 54 to 57mm for $100 a set also...watch this space for yet another set of wheels.....if only the missus could understand !!!
