P.s some pics would be great of the finished product if you have some.
Would love to comment and show some pics but......... still haven't committed yet - unfortunately in Adelaide the two places that flog VWR springs clearly have absolutely no interest in selling them (emails and phone calls all ignored).

Just a follow up to my own post.. finally got in touch with a local dealer for VWR springs and looks like I will head down this path. Just a couple of queries:

    - got confirmation of now rubbing issues even with a loaded car, any issues with ground clearance.. I've been lowered on other cars before so fully aware that you need to be careful on spoon drains and the like, any issues with things like car park ramps or speed humps? I've read all the White James stuff on the DG springs where issues of rub or clearance with people/gear in the back are raised.

    - also considering the sway bar mod, it seems like most are adding new front and rear, though some are opting just for rear.. I understand the basics on sway bars but am curious as to the reasoning for these choices?

    - following on from this, I have read a few threads on sizing, I'm not after anything extreme, so would appear the H&R 22mm is the option here, I see Whiteline also do a sway bar but it appears to be at 20mm only.. thoughts?

Any feedback appreciated. As per earlier posts I am keen on the aesthetics of lower springs, but also looking for some minor handling upgrades for road use.

I have a tow bar that will hit the road if I drive in/out of a driveway with a deep vee
This problem obviously became worse after installing the VWR springs (~20mm drop)
You have to reduce speed, it's not a clearance problem, it's a bounce problem

No problem with people and gear loaded in the rear

The special bushes that come with the roll bar squeek - especially in the wet

Diameter of the roll bar is not the only metric that defines it's strength
My VRS Octavia had a 24mm roll bar as stock (I think the GTI has a fatter than normal one also)
So you wouldn't want to pick a 22mm roll bar unless it's thicker or longer etc
The VWR roll bar is 30% stronger than stock - that's why I went for it

Awesome, every time I ask questions I end up with more then when I started

I assume when you say VWR rollbar you mean the APR ones by HP?

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting that APR here in Oz use HP bars rather than VWR
