Pilot Sport might have an rrp of $500 a corner but that's not the street price. Check Tempe Tyres for example

As title suggests,
Looking at some ideas for replacement of the stock bridgestone potenza's on my scriocco.
I've been told to go for michellin Pilots but so are SOOO expensive, $500 each!
My potenza's only lasted 20,000km's, I would say 8000km's before wheel spin became a constant issue with launching.

What size? There's a sale on Goodyear until Easter 4 for price of 3 so you could get some F1 Assymetric 2's. Check the wheel and tyre section as I posted there for pricing on some common sizes.

It would probably help if you said what size - 18s or 19s
Michelin PS3 or PSS if you want a little more wet weather performance. They won't be $500 each.
18" - approx prices
Bridgestone RE050A - $300
PS3 $190
PSS?? - probably $300 tops
19"
RE050A - $400
PS2 - $360
PSS - $350
Did you bother to X-rotate your tyres. 20,000km is prettyy good from just a front set if you tend to launch a bit.
If you want something really sticky then think about a road based semi-slick. Keep in mind that as you improve one aspect of the vehicle (tyre traction) it will show up deficiencies in other areas (damper control, bushing stiffness, front end geometry, etc).

My local Goodyear franchise quoted $370 a corner for F1 A2s which is craziness. The retail tyre business is nuts. Even after their 4 for 3 offer they would be about $400 more than Tempe.
Bob Jane will mostly price match so I will start there when I look to get Michelin PS3s shortly. If Goodyear had made a decent offer on F1A2s I would have brought the purchase forward to take advantage of the current offer. Their loss.

Check out the thread I posted in the wheel and tyre section of the forum.
Goodyear Croydon were selling 225/40R18 F1A2's for $615 a set of 4 (they've sold out now). If you want them in 19's they are still doing 235/35R19 for $1,020 for a set of 4.
Also a set of 4 x 17's were going for$699.
These are genuine Goodyear fresh rubber and not parallel import/ old stock.
Anyway if you want to grab a bargain you'll have to get your skates on as these prices are only valid until Easter (tomorrow is the last day).
Also these were only available from the Croydon (VIC) store as they bought in bulk sets to provide the online discount. Once they're gone that's it.
