A quick question for you lot, after looking at tyres I have decided on some 195s but what 195s I don't know
For the rears they are 16x8 so I'm thinking 195/45 will do a nice stretch, but the fronts are my concern.
The fronts are a 16x7.5, Do I get 195/40 OR 195/45 I want to keep to the same rolling diameters fronts and backs can anyone help meh?

just out of curiosity, if you stretch a tyre, wouldn't that change the rolling diameter of it?
If so, the miata calculator isnt going to suit that circumstance

you might need to run a more narrow tyre on the fronts to keep the strech the same front to back,

Just go 195/45S all round, will get a little bit of stretch on the fronts with a half decent tyre and a tad more on the rear. My 195/45/16 Conti Contact Sports were very slightly stretched on my 16x7s, the 205s now sit flat (looks ghey IMO!)

I'd go 195/45 all around, due to two main reasons... 1) cheaper (going 195/40 is a huge price hike as it's a rare size); 2) it'll maintain the stock VR6 rolling diameter better.
HOWEVER, the 195/40 would give you a better looking stretch on the 7.5" rim, but that said, the 195/45 would look quite similar between 7.5" and 8" widths. 195/40 will also let you run lower at the front (good or bad thing is up to you decide lol) and will give a forward rake look even when your wheel gap front and back is the same (which I like).
IMO, 195/40R16 = baller, 195/45R15 = safe
Hi Steve, i've got 195/40/17 all round on my 17" RS, they are 7.5" front and 8" rear.
I had 195/40/16 on my 16" x 7" RS when i had the car shipped over here, then i split a tyre and couldn't find that size anywhere, they were Conti Sport Contact 2's.
So i had to get a new set of 195/45/16, it was a noticable difference in over all diameter, it made the arch to tyre gap smaller and raised the car up a bit, the ride felt a little smoother in a straight line but turning into corners was completely different, more flex in the 195/45's.
If i were you i'd go 195/45 all round, looks wise you'll have to lower it till it touches the ground to get it to look right from arch to tyre with the 195/40's. The Golf 3 and Corrado have such big arches you need to fill them out IMO. This is why i went to 17's, so i could run 195/40 without losing overall diameter.

A new tyre a mate of mine has suggested are Marangoni Mythos.
My mate owns and runs Ozzy tyres here on the Central Coast.
This tyre won Tyre of the year apparently. They are an Italian tyre.
195 40 R16 are available. They should be around $110 to $130 each corner.
I'm sure you'd be able to find them somewhere around were you are..
