Tyre bulge warranty or claim on RTA?

I recently hit a big pothole on my way home and noticed a bulge in the tyre soon after. I assumed it was a result of hitting the pothole although I started thinking that maybe it was already there and I didn't notice?

Either way I do not wish to fork out for another tyre although I am not sure whether to go to Skoda to claim warranty on the tyre, or Roads and Traffic Authority due to the pothole (which has since been fixed)?

Any suggestions?

This happened to my sister on the gold coast. She took a photo of the pothole, photo of the tyre and took it to Gold Coast City Council to sort it out. Apparently they just went through Main Roads. They paid up! She did, however, pull over straight away and call council as soon as it happened.

Yeah, worth trying what RhysQ said... no chance you'll get get it covered under warranty though.

I have lodged a claim through the RTA contractors responsible for that section of the road. Wish I had taken a photo though.....

Tomorrow night (Tuesday 14th) there is a segment on "Today Tonight" about this very subject (Potholes in Sydney's roads damaging peoples cars) and how motorists are fighting back. Might be worth catching it.

They should have interviewed me - I had quite an amount of damage paid for by the RTA/M5 Authority!
