ok, this is to quell all the misinformation being thrown around, i contacted roger@tirerack, who ive bought from a few times and he sent me this

Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, you are correct, we are no longer able to export the following tire brands due to a new export requirement when shipping tires to Australia.

    B. F. Goodrich

    Bridgestone

    Continental

    Firestone

    Fuzion

    General

    Hankook

    Michelin

    Pirelli

    Toyo

    Uniroyal

    Yokohama

The only tires we can currently ship would include Dunlop's, Goodyear's, Kumho's, and Sumitomo's, So, if you can work with one of the remaining brand's I would be more than happy to quote!

in saying that, ive just put an order in for a set of 235/19/35 goodyear assym 2 and it comes to $1094 shipped to oz. im getting on these as who knows when the other brands will pull the plug on sending to oz.

Excellent info. Thanks for that mate. Funny thing is... My friend who couldn't order his Michellin PSS's, he changed his order to 2 set of Continentals (2 different models). And they accepted it. This is just 2 days ago.

Sorry to drag up old replies but I just saw these...

The most you'll get for a casing is a few bucks. There are strict guidelines as to what they can accept. The tyre can't be damaged in any way, can have only one or two puncture repairs and they have to be a certain distance apart, can't be worn beyond the tread (ie. exposed cords), etc. Years ago, in your scrap heap you'd end up with 40% decent casings and 60% scrap, so it didn't end up costing a whole heap. These days, you'd be lucky to have 10% good casings. All my tyres get recycled because retreads are evil and should be killed with fire.

Thank you for your email. I apologize for my delay.

    Thank you for your email!

I was just informed that we can no longer send Bridgestone brand tires internationally to Australia.

Please let me know the next step.

    G'day Walbjj,

Did you ending up receiving the Asym 2? I was looking at putting an order in for a set of 225/40/18 and Goodyear Australia don't have that size here; even though it says on their website that size is available.

They have quoted me the Goodyear F1 Directional 5 for $335 each fitted, etc; but in reading all the reviews the Asym 2 sounds like the way to go.

    Thanks
