give ACCC the details of tirerack/Oz.
It cant hurt, and may ending up helping us.
Local distributors are just trying to squeeze out overseas imports and its illegal

January? Try at least April 2011, cos that's when I got my oz racing ultras from performance alloys in the uk as tirerack already weren't selling bbs and oz outside nth America. I suspect they were restricting sales long before then as I heard about those practices for a while.

if ever you run into roadblocks like that, use a freight forwarder like www.hopshopgo.com
even if tirerack etc wont sell deal with you at all, hopshopgo will buy on your behalf

My tyres arrived. Two during the week sometime and two today.
Tire Rack came through. But I cant say much for FedEx tracker which has been MIA since 15 May. The route of two tyres is a complete mystery as far as tracker is concerned. I got a note today to say they had arrived. Nothing on the tracker between 15 and 24 May, so dont rely on it. I checked with the garage, both here, so all good.
Total time from order to delivery in Bne 15 days for those thinking of using Ture Rack.
Cheers.

Glad you got them mate.
I know what you mean about FedEx tracker but. I had some items sent from the US and they did almost the same as your shipment. One box landed in Syd at the same time it landed in JFK. Crossed wires somewhere. Still I got it a day later so didn't stress.
Thanks Big_M, yeah doesnt matter if they had to re-ship so long as they arrive. What I really didnt want was an insurance claim with me having to re-purchase with the proceeds of claim on a falling Aussie, it has dropped almost 5c since I ordered, which would translate to around 40 bucks plus any bank fees.
Talking to the garage guy this morning, he's had one pair a full week before the others, a full week during which time I thought they were still in Sydney and there was no response to either my email or phone inquiry apart from saying they would investigate.
Fitted on Thursday next... cant wait, they look great.
PS: today 31 May I got an inquiry from Tire Rack as to whether my goods had arrived. I said yes thanks and added the above tracker comments. They replied it had concerned them as well. Guess that admits the system relies on people to work well.

FYI:
A mate just had an email from Tirerack telling him they can't/won't sell Michelin tyres to Australia anymore.
