    Stuck Wheel???

    hi all,

wondering if anyone has come across a situation where you go to change a wheel but it won't come off???

went around to swalee's place and thanks to his generosity, loaned his 19" oz rims for a test... disappointment... first wheel i tried was stuck on???

yes, i have undone all bolts, all out... lol... nothing, yanked it, nothing...

guess i'm off to jax or somewhere tomorrow morn to get these rims on!

anyone got any ideas or had something similar?

Had this same issue when taking my detroits off. The hubs get a bit of corrosion on them which causes the wheel to get stuck!

I just used a rubber mallet or you could use a some timber and gently hit the inside of the tyre at 4 points till it comes loose. One of mine was really seized on good!

I think it has to do with the fact that the wheels are alloy and the hubs are steel. It can make tyre rotation a real pain.

Make sure (or get your tyre shop) to put some never seize or similar on there before they put the wheels back on.

I had this problem a few times with my old Saab. I just kicked it at the bottom and top to loosen it (not too hard or it will fall off the jack haha). Then make sure you pull it straight off, not on an angle.

Not sure I described that too well, but I think I got my point across...
